Help design and check security systems to keep data safe.
Write and apply simple security rules (like passwords, access rights).
Support setting up firewalls, VPNs, and tools that protect apps and websites.
Work with identity systems (who can log in, what they can see).
Assist with audits to make sure rules are followed.
Be part of the team that reacts to security problems and learns from them.
Add security steps into the software development process (DevSecOps).
Learn and use encryption methods to protect information.
Help secure cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Take part in penetration tests (ethical hacking) and fix weak points.
Support data loss prevention (stop sensitive info from leaking).
EducationBachelor's degree (or equivalent 3 years of higher education).
Skills You'll NeedBasic knowledge of how to design secure systems.
Understanding of Zero Trust (never assume anyone is safe by default).
Familiarity with firewalls, secure coding, and app security basics.
Interest in identity and access management (who gets access to what).
Awareness of common standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST).
Willingness to learn incident response and digital forensics.
Curiosity about DevOps and how security fits in.
Basic understanding of encryption (TLS, AES, RSA).
Interest in cloud security.
Eagerness to learn penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
Awareness of new areas like AI security, quantum-safe encryption, and privacy tools.
Ideally at least 2 years in security architecture.
Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are a big plus.
Experience in projects where security is critical and things change quickly.
